Education and Training

Rabbi Lawrence is an alumnus of Yeshivat Ma’aleh Giloboa HaKibutz Hadati in Israel and received rabbinic ordination from its Rosh HaYeshiva, Rabbi David Bigman. During his Rabbinical studies, he completed the iEngage fellowship at the Hartman Institute, studied under and earned certification as a Mohel from Ephraim Jososvic, headmaster of the London School of Circumcision.

Rabbi Lawrence was a fellow in the Kesher Hadash program, a full-time interdisciplinary residency in Jerusalem with the Davidson School of Jewish Education, David Yellin College of Education and Ma'aleh School of Television, Film and the Arts,  through which he was trained and certified in Israel education in the Diaspora.

He holds two masters degrees— one in Hebrew Bible and Semitic Languages from the Kekst School Graduate School, and  the other in Teaching Hebrew as a Second Language from the Middlebury Language Schools. He  received  his bachelor's degree in Linguistics and Yiddish Language from Columbia University.
